Yantsislav Yanakiev

Captain (BGR-N, ret.) Yantsislav Yanakiev is full professor in sociology at the Bulgarian Defence Institute “Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov.” In 2011-2018, he was director of the Defence Advanced Research Institute at the Bulgarian Defence College “G. S. Rakovski.”. Prof. Yanakiev specialized as International Research Fellow at the NATO Defence College in Rome, Italy in 1999 and Cologne University, Germany in 2001 and 2007. He was a Fulbright Visiting Research Professor at the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI), Patrick Air Force Base, FL from October 2012 to March 2013. Professor Yanakiev has been a principal national representative to the NATO STO Human Factors & Medicine Panel since 2005. He received the 2018 Individual Scientific Achievement Award of NATO Science and Technology Organization.
